I couldn't let Sale-a-bration end without showing you this gorgeous Springtime Foils specialty designer series paper (DSP) that you can get for free. I had the basic card layout in my head to showcase the paper, but I couldn't decide on which color combination to make, so I made three of them.
The first card is made using the Thick Whisper White card stock as the base. I used black as an accent color which helped the silver from the DSP pop off the card. I used the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon to add more shimmer and shine to the card. This picture does not do the card justice.
The sentiment comes from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set--another one of the free Sale-a-bration offers. I cut out the sentiment using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. This is my first time using this framelit set and I love how elegant the stitching looks. I will definitely be using these a lot more. I cut out the scalloped oval using the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered the two layers together and then attached them to the card using dimensionals.
I used a small section of the DSP at the bottom of the inside of the card and finished it off with another piece of the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon.
For the second card, I decided to switch the black and white layers, but everything else stayed the same. I think the black card base frames the DSP and the sentiment a little better than the white card. However, I think the Whisper White layer around the DSP gets a little lost.
The Whisper White layer worked perfectly for the inside of the card though. I debated using a colored piece of card stock instead of the Whisper White, which brought me to my third card.
This time I made the card using a Calypso Coral card base. I think it turned out really nice too. I used the Shimmer Ribbon pack (another free Sale-a-bration item) which had Calypso Coral shimmer ribbon as one of the colors. After I finished making this card, I thought it may have been prettier if I had made the scalloped oval layer Basic Black instead of Calypso Coral. So many choices!
The inside of the card looks just like the others. Clean and simple with plenty of room to write a message.
As you can tell, I had a lot of fun playing with this beautiful paper. There are so many different options of colors that I can mix and match and all of them turn out great. I think that speaks to the beauty of this paper. It makes everything look amazing.
So, what do you think? Do you have a favorite of the three? I'd love to hear your input in the comment section below.
Don't forget that sale-a-bration ends in four days. You have until then to get this beautiful paper and then it is gone for good. If you'd like to purchase any of these items I used, simply click on the pictures below and they'll be added to your cart. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
