As I mentioned earlier in the week, I'm participating in this month's Control Freak Blog Hop. You're hopping through the blogs, you should have come from Wendy's blog.
The theme for this month's hop is the Occasions Mini Catalog. I started by creating this thank you card.
It's difficult to see in the photo, but I have a row of paper piercing around the red designer series paper. Of course I also pierced holes in all of the scallops.
For the inside of the card, I tried to mimic the look of the card front. I added a thin piece of Real Red and Pretty in Pink cardstock to the top and bottom of the Very Vanilla cardstock to help give it a more finished look.
For my second project I made a Treat Bag Cover.
This was a very quick, simple project to make. I used the Pinking Hearts Border punch on the front flap. I wanted the hearts to stand out more so I added a piece of Real Red cardstock behind it. The large heart is from the Magnetic Movers and Shapers set (page 201 of the catalog). I then took a piece of Real Red cardstock and punched out a heart using the Full Heart punch (page 187). The two hearts layer inside each other very nicely. I finished off my Treat Bag Cover with some nuggets wrapped in DSP and a piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon.
