My mojo has been missing since I was sick last week. When I take a few days off from stamping, it's often difficult to get going again. I made an unsuccessful attempt at Julee's Mojo Monday sketch yesterday and ended up with my heart card instead. I just couldn't get it to work! Today I'm happy to say that I think I pulled it off.
I pulled out some new designer series paper and assembled a new stamp set and made this card.
Isn't that much more cheerful and happy than my black heart card from yesterday? LOL! My moods are definitely reflected in the projects I make.
I paired the Flock Together DSP with the new Cheep Talk stamp set. I inked up the branch image with my Close to Cocoa and Garden Green markers and stamped it right on the So Saffron speckled designer series paper. I colored the bird with my Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie markers and then stamped him on the branch.
I pulled out my Janome Sew Mini and sewed around all three layers of designer series paper. I even sewed around the little "thank you" layer. You can click on the photo above to enlarge it to see the details better.
I attached the left edge of my So Saffron ribbon behind the large So Saffron cardstock layer. I layed it across the green DSP panel and then used dimensionals to adhere the bird panel on top of the ribbon. I decided to use one of the Flower Brads to hold my ribbon in place. I opened up the prongs of the brad as wide as they could go so they were shaped like the letter "U". Then I took my paper piercer and pierced two holes in the Turquoise DSP. I scrunched the ribbon together, placed it inside the prongs of the brad, threaded the prongs of the brad through the pierced holes, and then opened the prongs on the back of my cardstock.
I kept the inside of my card pretty simple. I was only going to add a strip of DSP layered on some cardstock, but I wanted to try my new Eyelet Border punch. I *love* this new punch! It's so easy to line up and makes such beautiful borders. I'll definitely be using this often.
Thank you so much for stopping by! ~Dannie
