I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I got so much done this weekend and it feels great. Just a quick reminder...today's the last day of June (where does the time go?) and that means it's the last day to order from the Occasions mini catalog. If you would like to order anything, please contact me asap so I can place that order for you.
I thought I would start off this morning with Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
I love Julee's sketches.
I used my Berry Bliss designer series paper for this card. For some reason, my Pretty in Pink cardstock looks terrible next to the Berry Bliss DSP. The shades of pink are off and I don't like how they look together. So whenever I need a layer of pink, I just grab the piece of DSP that is plain pink and stamp on that.
I stamped the flower background stamp in Purely Pomegranate ink on the largest pink layer. This is one of my favorite background stamps. You can stamp it several times in a row and you can't tell where the seams are between each of the stamped images. It makes beautiful backgrounds.
For the main floral image, I stamped the flower twice. I cut out one of the images, added a build-a-brad to the center, and popped it up on dimensionals.
I used my stamp-a-ma-jig on the "for you" stamp. The sentiment was too long to fit in the circle punch so I stamped the words on top of each other so they would fit. I pierced a few holes under the words for interest.
I used the paper piercing template to evenly space the holes for the brads. I pierced the holes with my paper piercer and then inserted the brads in the holes. I used to try using my 1/16" punch and just eyeballing where the holes should be. Yup...that never turned out pretty! It's much easier to use the paper piercing template. Some of us just have to learn the hard way.
The long skinny pink layer looks so plain in this photo. It does have a subtle pink flower pattern with white circles printed on it. I tried taking a closer photo, but none of the detail showed up. Like I said, it's very subtle.
I hope you have a wonderful Monday. Thanks for stopping by! ~Dannie
