I have several friends with birthdays this month so I'm working on lots of birthday cards and gifts. I searched SplitCoast for some ideas and came across a really cute post-it note holder by Michelle Wooderson.
The pattern is quite simple. Cut your card stock to 3 1/2" x 11". Score your card stock at 5", 5 1/2" and 6". Accordion fold the scored lines so that when you're finished, the card stock looks like a letter "W" from the side. You can click on the photo below to enlarge it and get a better look at the fold.
I rounded the top two corners and used the Word Window Punch to punch out the handle. For the large flower image, I used the Rock-n-Roll technique. I inked up the flower in Blush Blossom ink and then rolled the edges in Bravo Burgundy ink.
Here's the inside of the post-it note holder.
You'll notice it's missing the post-it notes. I got the entire project done before I realized that the only color post-it notes that I have are turquoise and lime green. I didn't think they would look too nice with these colors, so I didn't use them. I'll buy some new colors this weekend.
I will be working on the rest of this gift over the weekend, so stay tuned to see what else I come up with.
