Growing up, I have always looked up to my older sister. She was our second mom in the family. She took care of us after school, cooked dinner, cleaned the house...everything a mom would do.
Now that we're adults, I look up to her even more. She's a single mom of five boys...yes, FIVE BOYS! She does whatever it takes to take care of her boys and make sure they have a roof over their head and food on their table. Recently she has decided to go back to school so she can get a degree in nursing. I don't know how she does it all.
Today I found out that she passed her Anatomy and Physiology class. I wanted to let her know how proud I was of her, so I made her this card.
Hippos are her favorite animal so this stamp was perfect. I stamped the cute little hippo four times. Once on Whisper White, two times on Basic Gray, and once on Rose Red. I cut the hippo out of the Basic Gray and adhered it on top of the stamped image on the Whisper White. Then I took the other Basic Gray hippo image and cut out just the head and ears and adhered it with dimensionals. Then I cut the bow and balloon out of the Rose Red cardstock and popped them up on dimensionals too. Here's a side view of the hippo so you can see the dimension.
I finished the card off with all of my usual favorites--paper piercing, brads, designer series paper, and dimensionals. I usually like to add ribbon too, but I don't think this card needs any. I like it just the way it is.
Here's my challenge for you...make a card for somebody you know that tells them
- you're proud of them
- you're grateful for something they've done
- you look up to them
anything along those lines. Now here's the catch...you actually have to MAIL the card! I know how stampers love to hold on to the cards they make. I do it too. So make those cards, take a picture of them, drop them in the mail, and then leave me a comment on this post with a link to your creation so I can take a look.
