It's the 20th of the month and that means it's time for the Control Freak Blog hop.
If you're following along the blog hop, you just arrived here from Julie Buhler's amazing blog. I love visiting her blog and seeing all of the creative ideas she comes up with.
The theme for this month's blog hop was flowers. I love using any type of flowers in my stamping projects. I haven't made a flower using my 5-petal flower punch in several months, so I pulled it out and made this flower.
Click here to see the tutorial on how to make this flower. I punched out six 5-petal flowers from Orchid Opulence cardstock to make this flower. I sponged all of the edges of the flower petals with Rich Razzleberry ink to give it some added depth and dimension. It's difficult to see in the photo (you can click on it to enlarge it), but I took my bone folder and added some scored lines to each of the leaves to make them look a little more realistic.
Of course I had to decorate the inside of my card too. Whenever possible, I try to keep the same layout as I had on the front of my card.
As I said before, I love using flowers on my cards. As soon as I saw the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers in the Occasions Mini Catalog, I had to buy them. Have I used them yet? No, because I like to hoard stuff! I figured it was time to pull them out and use them.
These flowers coordinate perfectly with the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack. I used Glue Dots to adhere the felt flowers to my project. I wanted some stems for the flowers so I took the brush end of my Old Olive marker and drew them in.
Just like the previous card, I keep the same layout for the inside of my card. This was a very simple and quick layout.
The next stop along the blog hop is the ever talented Patty Bennett. Click on the link below to hop on over to her blog and check out her amazing projects.
Thanks for stopping by! ~Dannie
