Stampin' Up! did a fantastic job with convention this year. They did not disappoint. My favorite part has to be the Convention Attendee Barbie commercial they showed during closing session.
Whoever designed this Barbie didn't leave any details out. She had a convention name tag on, a bag of swap cards, she was wearing the shirt that we could purchase at Momento Mall, and she even had a Stampin' Up! apron to wear.
Do you see the Décor Elements on the walls of her home? The commercial had two girls playing with their Barbies and singing about things they learned at convention. While they're singing, the doorbell rings and in walks...
the UPS man! At this point the entire room of 6000 demonstrators erupts into screaming and cheering. We couldn't even hear the end of the commercial because the noise in the room was so loud. Shelli played the commercial again and then started talking about convention 2009 (it will be in Salt Lake City, but no date has been set yet). While she's talking, a doorbell ring and in walks a real UPS man carrying a box. He says he has a delivery for the Salt Palace and it says to deliver the package to everyone.
If you thought the noise was loud during the commercial, you should have heard the noise after he said that! It was incredible. The curtain was pulled back and in came a UPS truck.
I was in the second row right where the truck parked. I knew something exciting was about to happen because the camera men were right in front of me.
The truck stops and several UPS men jump out of the truck carrying bags of free stamp sets.
Several Stampin' Up! employees were dressed up in UPS t-shirts too and they helped pass out the stamp sets.
While they're passing out the stamp sets, smoke and confetti is flying out everywhere. The song "Burning Down the House" was playing on the speakers and everybody was screaming and cheering "U-P-S". I think it's safe to say that we love our men in brown. It was an amazing sight.
Here's the stamp set that we all received for free. It's called "Say it with Scallops" and it coordinates with our new Scalloped Square punch. This stamp set is also this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set. Each time this stamp set is purchased, $2 will be donated to the RMHC. It's such a great cause.
Do you know what else is amazing about UPS? They donated this stamp set to all of the demonstrators at convention to thank us for our business. What an amazing company. Thank you UPS! ~Dannie

I used to collect Barbie dolls, so this is totally hilarious to me. Thanks for sharing this--I hadn't heard about the commercial until reading your post. I'm glad you got to go to convention. I'm sure it was a blast. I have been a demo for four years but haven't gone yet.
